I know, I have not been good to my blog, just the thought of writing something wears me out. However, if I keep it short and simple and list-style, it may help to keep this thing alive. I am so happy with my life, but man oh man being a new mom is so tiring, dark under eye circles, bags, its all there. I think actor Liev Schreiber, Naomi Watts husband, put it best: "It’s 23 hours and 59 minutes of exhaustion.”....“They do one little thing in that last minute that is just so compelling and fascinating that it makes the other 23 hours and 59 minutes worthwhile,” yep, so very true.
BODY
Good: I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight and then some. Yippee!
Bad: The lush hair I had during pregnancy is now all falling out, in large quantities. Yikes!!
Apparently this is normal though.
Ugly: I've been strictly breastfeeding, however Aunt Flo managed to pay me a visit only 3 months postpartum. Most other moms I know say they didn't get a visit until their babies turned one or beyond.
BABY
Good: She turned 4 months on the 6th, she's a healthy and happy baby. She's super fun, and already a genius* =). (*I know every mom thinks their kid is a genius)
Bad: At 4 months, she still not sleeping through the night, but we're working on it.
Ugly: Before I was pregnant, I said I would NEVER EVER be one of those moms who post pics of their babies doing everything and nothing at all. Well, I was wrong. I upload photos to my Facebook almost daily. I also make sure to take a picture of her every day, I want to turn it into a keepsake book at the end of the year.
OTHER
Good: I'm eating home cooked semi-gourmet meals every.single.night. Courtesy of the husband, who works a full time job and still manages to spend time in the kitchen so I don't have to.
Bad: Since we are down to one income, we're living on a budget. All the simple luxuries I enjoyed when I was working is now out the door. No more Starbucks run, eating out when ever and where ever, buying name brand products. Instead we're renting movies and buying the store brand products.
Ugly: I don't think I've bought any new clothes or done anything for myself since the baby arrived. It's definitely all about her and there is no more me, which I don't mind, but really, everyday when I look in my closet to get dressed, I have nothing to wear, so I live in Yoga pants.
