28 weeks—I’m in the home stretch now.
With each passing day, we’re getting more and more excited that we will soon meet our little girl. She is about 2.25 lbs and about 14.5 inches from head to toe. She apparently has eye lashes and can blink, which also indicates that she can tell the difference between day and night.
I’ve been keeping busy these past few weeks. I’m happy to say that her bedroom is about 90% complete. We are just missing 2 more big things, but they aren’t that important, so we are in no rush. Other than that and as hot as it was the hubs was able to do a chalk board treatment on her closet door. He painted a layer of magnetic paint underneath and black chalkboard paint over it. He also helped me put up some decals above her crib. The decals were a pain to put up, I think because it was a more intricate with lots of details.
I had my maternity photo shoot with my friend Brian Khang yesterday. We shot the first part at South Coast Botanical Gardens in Palos Verdes and the 2nd part at our house. It went well, despite the heat. I was sweating like crazy and was really flushed throughout the shoot, so I hope I looked okay. I have a whole new respect for models. It’s really not easy when the environment doesn’t cooperate. The photo shoot was one of the reasons why we were in such a rush to get her room ready because we wanted to shoot in her nursery.
I swear, last week felt like Christmas, we kept receiving package after package. The bedding came in, the wall decals, and then it was the stroller, etc. BTW, getting the stroller was the highlight of my week. Not only because we can check one more thing off our list, but the friggin’ thing only cost us $16. We were able to get this super expensive and uber chic stroller for that little because we cashed in some of our American Express points for some gifts cards which we in turned used it to purchase the stroller. The hubs put it together and we really like it now that we’ve had a chance to live with it and try it out.
We also finished our Prepared Childbirth class over the weekend. We chose the 2 day weekend session. Saturday was from 8:30 to 5:30 and Sunday was 8:30-12:30. They were longs days, we learned a lot, but we are glad it is over with. Now we just have Infant CPR and Breastfeeding class in August.
Well that’s about it.
